See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

Friendly, popular and comfortable pub, parts of which are quite ancient - The old Saxon town wall passes through the building. It is home to the original Hop Kettle brewery and this remains despite the pub being recently acquired by St Austell. There are ten real ales on offer: three Hop Kettle and four from St Austell, plus three guest beers. Excellent quality food is served and there are five rooms available for B&B. There is a large garden at the back. Several times local CAMRA Branch Pub of the Year.
